Astrophotography

Astrophotography is a relatively new pursuit for me. It all started with an attempt to photograph the Milky Way core when I was on holiday in the Maldives. The skies were so incredibly dark, and being in the Southern Hemisphere, there were some incredible details that we can't really see in the Northern half of the globe.

Fast forward 6 years and the bug has well and truly bitten! What started out as a determination to capture the Aurora Borealis (of which we have been treated to some incredible displays in 2024 and 2025 (thank you Sun!) has morphed into a fascination with deep sky objects such as galaxies and nebulae. I'm still a complete noob with all this but I hope my images will improve with time and practice (and a lot of patience!).
